Last weekend we were over at the ICO World Cup in Birmingham with our fighters Josh Hayden, Summer Kaur, Denis Singh, Cody Legg, Barry Plechowicz and Gurmare Singh representing the England team! The ICO World Cup was spread over three days with fighters travelling from all over the world to come and compete in points, continuous, ring, K1 and MMA divisions. We saw some great fighters and it’s the best we’ve seen our squad fight (!) with everyone stepping it up and trying their hardest to bring back medals.
Josh won gold in -25kg boys points, silver in continuous and bronze in ring continuous; Summer won bronze in -25kg girls points and silver -30kg; Cody won silver in boys -35kg in continuous and silver in ring continuous; Barry won bronze in the masters division and gold in the team event; Gurmare won gold in -60kg men’s points and continuous; Denis Singh unfortunately had a couple good wins but didn’t place in medal rounds.
We now have World Cup Champions at Tigerstyle! Can’t tell you how proud we are – well done everyone, we are so pleased with how well you all did. Back to training now so we can get ready for the next one!
