Today is World Mental Health Day! Although the focus for this year is on mental health in the workplace, it’s a great time to shout about all the great things exercise can do for your mental health.
Exercise is a great way to promote good mental health in a number of ways. I don’t know about you but if I’m having a bad day, or feeling low, I always feel a bit better and more energised after doing something active. Sport England say exercise can help improve our mood, reduce our stress, help us develop better self-esteem and help prevent and manage mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. Coupled with the physical benefits of exercise, what more reason do we need to get out there and get active?!
Make sure you are looking after yourselves both mentally and physically – get in touch and try out one of our classes. Everyone has mental health, let’s be sure to look after it in every way we can.
